Mrs. Devika de Zoysa, the benefactor of the UKFG and her family members, Mrs. Chandani Kaluwahewa, Mr. Chanuka Kaluwahewa, Mrs. Pubudu Abeysekara, and a group of guests arrived at Gunarathana Vidyalaya at Kamburupitiya today with many gifts for the little ones.
Mrs. Devika and her group and the Hon Chairman of our foundation, Mr.Sirisena Gamage, were warmly welcomed by the school band and ceremoniously escorted to the assembly hall. The cuktural dances and songs of the little girls and boys added colour to the event . Talented dancers and singers were able to delight the invited guests.
The school principal Ajith delivered the welcome speech . Then he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Mrs Devika , Mr Devsiri and Mr Gamage on behalf of the school in a beautiful poem. Speaking on behalf of theUK Friends of Galle foundation, Mr. Gamage expressed his gratitude to the Principal Mr Ajith, Vice Principal Anuja and the teaching staff for organizing such a beautiful event. He stated that it was a good fortune of the children of Gunarathna to have a charitable lady like Mrs Devika joining the UKFG. He requested the children to make use of her support to study well and become good citizens of the country in the future .
Mrs. Devika, who gave gifts to fill the hearts of the children, did not forget to fill their stomachs too. We were able to see the school children enjoying the delicious lunch provided by her along with the ice cream. After the lunch, the children enjoyed chatting with Mrs Devika and other guests.
After spending a joyful day with the children, Mrs. Devika and the guests sadly bid them farewell but promised to come back to the school again on another day.

ගුණරතනයේ දරුවන්ට ඇමරිකාවෙන් තෑගි ගෙනා අමුත්තෝ
එක්සත් රාජධානියේ ගාලු මිතුරු පදනමේ දානපති ඇමරිකාවේ දේවිකා ද සොයිසා මහත්මිය හා එතුමියගේ පවුලේ සාමාජිකයන් වන චාන්දනී කලුවහේවා මහත්මිය, චානුක කලුවහේවා මහතා, පුබුදු අබේසේකර මහත්මිය ඇතුළු අමුත්තන් පිරිස කඹුරුපිටියේ ගුණරතන විදුහලට අද පැමිණියේ පුංචි සිඟිත්තන්ටතෑගි බෝග ද රැගෙනය. දේවිකා මහත්මිය ඇතුළු පිරිස හා අප පදනමේ ගරු සභාපති ගමගේ මහතා පාසලේ තූර්ය වාදන කණ්ඩායම විසින් ඉතා ඉහළින් පිළිගෙන උත්සවාකාරව රැස්වීම් භූමියට කැඳවාගෙන යන ලදී .
ගරු විදුහල්පති අජිත් මහතා අමුත්තන් පිළිගැනීමේ කතාව කළ පසුව ඉතා මනහර කවි පෙළකින් දේවිකා මැතිනිය, දෙව්සිරි හෙවාවිදාන මහතා හා සිරිසේන ගමගේ මහතාට පාසල වෙනුවෙන් තම හද පිරි ස්තුතිය පුද කළේය. ගාලු මිතුරු පදනම වෙනුවෙන් කතා කළ ගමගේ මැතිතුමා ඉතා අලංකාර උත්සවයක් සංවිධානය කිරීම ගැන ගරු විදුහල්පතිතුමාටත් අනුජා උප විදුහල්පතිනිය ඇතුළු ගුරු මණ්ඩලයටත් තම කෘතඥ භාවය පුද කළේය. දේවිකා මහත්මිය වැනි දානපතිනියක් ගාලු මිතුරු පදනමට එක්වීම ගුණරතනයේ දරුවන්ගේ ඉතා වාසනාවක් බව ප්‍රකාශ කළ එතුමා මේ ලැබෙන උපකාර ප්‍රයෝජනයට ගෙන හොඳට ඉගෙනගෙන රටේ යහපත් පුරවැසියන් වන ලෙස දරුවන්ගෙන් ඉල්ලීමක්ද කළේය
පාසලේ පුංචි දූ පුතුන්ගේ නැටුම්, ගැයුම් වලින් උත්සවය ඉතා අලංකාර වූ අතර පැමිණි ආරාධිත අමුත්තන් මනා ලෙස සතුටු කිරීමට ඔවුන්ට හැකි විය. න්දරුවන්ගේ හිත පිරෙන්නට තෑගි ලබා දුන් දේවිකා මහත්මිය ඔවුන්ගේ කුස පුරවන්නද අමතක නොකළේය. පාසල් දරුවෝ එතුමිය විසින් ලබා දුන් ඉතා ප්‍රණීත දිවා ආහාරය සමඟ අයිස්ක්‍රීම් ආසාවෙන් භුක්ති විඳි අයුරු අපිට දැකගත හැකිවිය. බලවත් සතුටෙන් අමුත්තන් සමග කාලය ගත කළ දරුවෝ අවසානයේ දේවිකා මැතිනිය හා සංවාදයේ යෙදෙමින් ප්‍රීති වූ වෝය .
දරුවන් සමඟ දවසක් දවසක්ම ප්‍රීතියෙන් ගත කළ දේවිකා මැතිණිය හා අමුත්තන් පිරිස ඔවුන්ගෙන් සමුගත්තේ නැවතත් දිනක පාසැලට පැමිණෙන බවට පොරොන්දු වෙමිනි. එම ප්‍රීතිමත් දවසේ ලබාගත් ඡායාරූප සියල්ලම ඔබට පහළින් දැක ගත හැකිය.
